Begin a Career With Carlson construction

Carlson Construction’s culture follows five fundamental themes that we refer to as the Carlson Charter. We are proud of the culture we have created with our co-workers, leadership team, trade contractors, and clients.

The Way We ...

Work Together

Supporting the Team

Carlson’s leadership team is a fundamental resource and supporter of team members looking to problem‑solve or strategize any challenges.

Work Hard, Play Hard!

We understand that every employee has a life outside of work and is passionate about achieving success both at work and at home.

We Are Committed!

Carlson is committed to ongoing training and development support for our staff to achieve company and personal goals.

Communicate

Open Discussion Belief

All staff nurture and respect collaboration and celebrate the remarkable ideas and strategies of all our people, remaining approachable and inclusive at all times.

Talk With Us

Our meeting spaces are comfortable and well-equipped with ready-to-use technology for spontaneous or scheduled meetings. Our Carlson Café is an absolutely stunning eatery space where all staff are welcome to congregate for breakfast, lunch, snacks on Friday afternoons, or simply to meet with someone! This is truly the hub where good times happen and inspirational conversation is born!

Create Trust

We Hear You!

The Carlson team prides ourselves in not only “listening” but HEARING what our team members are saying. Taking those moments to be present is important to us.

Getting Social

Carlson’s social committee coordinates monthly and seasonal celebrations including BBQs, potlucks, pizza days, and afternoon celebrations for all staff.

Charity & Community

Carlson has supported a number of charities and schools over the years including Youth Empowerment & Support Services, Lawton School Tool Drive, and 630 CHED Santas Anonymous.

Make it Happen

What’s the Plan?

The hub of what we do involves the development of a plan. Creating a clear path to our goals is instrumental to getting us to where we want to be.

How Am I Doing?

We know Carlson team members place great importance on knowing where they stand in their performance. We facilitate annual reviews and weekly to monthly check-ins with your leader. We guide, mentor and coach our team members to success at every opportunity.

All About Innovation

The Carlson team encourages and cultivates new ideas brought forward by all our team members, always working in harmony to achieve success for the team, not just the individual.

Live Quality Lives

Extended Benefit Plan

For Field and Office staff, Carlson sponsors most of the cost for Health, Dental, Life, Dependent Life, and Disability.

Retirement Savings Matching Program

Carlson’s commitment is “hire to retire”, and will match employees’ contributions to their RRSP plan.

Vacation & Flex Days

Full-time staff start at three weeks’ vacation (minimum), regardless of position. We provide flex days in addition to vacation days to allow you to make appointments or deal with an illness.

Bonus

We share our success with the Carlson team by providing a bonus to all eligible staff.

Loud and Proud Legacy

We are lucky to have employees who have worked with Carlson for over 40 years. We celebrate long service awards at five-year increments, and provide an award that both you and your family can enjoy.

Your Birthday

Yup, that’s right. We enjoy celebrating birthdays with a quarterly lunch for all staff to give best wishes to those celebrating another trip around the sun.

Personal Health

Carlson has an on-site 24/7 fitness centre available to all staff. Membership to the centre is partially subsidized by Carlson, while fitness trainers and yoga classes are also available to staff for an additional cost.

Employment Fraud Warning

Effective as of November 1, 2021.

Employment fraud is a potential problem in Canada, and we want to help protect you.

A scheme often used by fraudsters is to impersonate an employee of a company or recruiting firm, and ask for money and/or personal information from job applicants.

Fraudsters may use a deceptively similar, or exactly similar domain for an email address from the company they claim to be associated with, and may also use documents or graphics with the logo and company name.

Carlson Construction, or its hiring partners, will never ask you for funds as part of the recruitment process. This includes processing fees, travel, immigration or visa, or any other costs.

The recruitment process that Carlson Construction employs is professional and confidential. No offer is made without meeting with the job candidate.

Only at the point of signing an employment agreement may a recruiter request personal information such as social insurance number, date of birth, or bank details. A request for these in the interview process is cautionary of a fraud act.

If you have concerns about a job offer or Carlson Construction’s recruitment process, please contact us directly through the Contact Us page on our website.

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre is a federal resource that you can use to help protect yourself against employment fraud, or other types of email/phone fraud.
