AltaSteel Reheat Oven

Edmonton-based AltaSteel is a producer of rolled steel products for the mining, construction, automotive and engineering industries, using 100% recycled scrap metal. Carlson’s work on AltaSteel’s Reheat Oven project included the construction of a mass concrete foundation 23 ft below grade along with a 4 ft concrete base slab, 2 ft concrete walls, and multi-level beam slabs. Carlson met high safety and quality control measures, and successfully constructed the facility to store several sizes of billets of melted metal, as well as cooling boxes for specialized tempering.
