The King LASIK Surgery Clinic tenant improvements project entailed the development of 2,877 sq ft of office space and a suite for laser eye surgery. The project was required to adhere to the specifications prescribed by the College of Physicians. Infrastructure upgrades were necessary to meet operating room requirements, and Carlson performed high voltage drop testing. Carlson also assumed responsibility for the care, custody, and control of the medical equipment. Base building redesigns occurred after construction had begun, posing unique coordination challenges. The King LASIK project had already been fast-tracked to meet the owner’s timeline of four months; Carlson exceeded expectations when the project was completed in 3.5 months.
