ONPA Architects, a large and well-established architectural firm based in Alberta, relocated its large offices to one of Edmonton’s southside business parks. ONPA enlisted Carlson to undertake the extensive renovations and tenant improvements project for its completely revamped 10,500 sq ft space. The result is a stunning environment that is well-known in the design and construction community.
The project involved complete demolition of the former tenant’s lab environment, followed by renovations that involved the creative use throughout the space of glazing, millwork, and reclaimed barn board. The partners’ offices stand out with full height glass partition walls and sliding doors. The large central atrium with its massive gabled skylight is a particularly notable feature and serves both as a meeting place and staff social area.
The project was fast-tracked to accommodate ONPA’s need to vacate their previous space and get back up and running as quickly as possible. Carlson’s trademark collaborative approach contributed heavily to project success.
